Spring Time

Hi, I thought I'd pop by with a project I've been on with, it started off with a plastic egg you can split in half to store sweets in,
It also had a hanging hoop on the bottom so i cut that off, then applied strips of tissue paper with mod podge, when dry I added some acrylic paint to the outside and inside of both pieces,
When dry I adhered one of the halves on the base of the other,
I coloured Tilda with lamb with my distress pens and finished off with a little re-inker too,
the base has some cheesecloth and  gorgeous flowers from my stash I think they were Prima ones, the glittered eggs are from Scrap and craft,I used the Noor grass die again, the stamen bunch is by Magnolia, rolled paper rose is from The Ribbon Girl,

I added some gorgeous white church window lace from the Ribbon Girl to the outer edges of the egg too,

Challenges

A cut Above

Hi guys,
Over at Paper Take Weekly we have a fab challenge for you
A Cut Above,
this can be die cutting, fussy cutting, or using punches or any interpretation of your own!!

We have some friends who's christening their daughter soon so I thought this would fit in brill for the challenge theme too,
The adorable baby digi is by Mo Manning and is coloured with my copics the fussy cut out, I love my rubber stamps but digi's are so handy for when something comes up and you need a beautiful image that just fits the bill,
I added hints of glitter to her dress, though typically it's not showing on here so well, I then layered her on top of some flowers and a die cut doily,
the fabric flower is from scrap and craft and the rest from Sweet lilac,
The beautiful lace is from The Ribbon Girl as is the top stitch thread too,
The papers are again from scrap and craft from the Heart painted paper pack, so looove this pack of papers, the chipboard corner detail and Christening day also was from there too,

I also made them an exploding cake box,
Using the gorgeous papers again, Sweet Lilac flowers on the lid and gorgeous edged ribbon from TRG,

The inside has more of the papers from the pack,

I again used the same digi image to keep the theme flowing and cut her out using a spellbinders circle and scalloped circle die, the flowers are from stash I've had years!!!!!
the rest have the date of the christening, and sentiments done on my computer, the pearl hearts are again from my stash,

I made the cakes using a similar way to the way I make my boxes for cards only added another layer for underneath to give them some support, then they got the same lovely papers used on the sides and tops,
I used some lace to give a pretty effect too, the button letters are again from my stash, I used one of those adorable teddies again, and yes still not found any more!!! then I stamped a small stamp in my stash with a couple of candles and a bible on it and fussy cut it out to sit on top of the cake to fit the occasion,

So I thought well that's a cut above too, lol

Happy ............

Hi guys, over at Paper Take Weekly we have a fab theme for you
Happy .........
some of you may have seen a hint of this as my stupid computer started playing up and I finished up posting it!!!!! nothing to do with me of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well I've used Happy Birthday as it was Kay's 30th Birthday last week, eeek my baby is 30!!!!!
anyway!!! breath deep Liz, one two one two, lol
So here's a few things I made for her,
lots of pictures so maybe grab a brew first!!!!!!!!!!
The card!

I was in a mood for something different from the norm again and Kay isn't into overly fussy or fancy and has Owls in her lounge, well not literally but on her cushions and ornaments etc, lol so to keep in with the theme I based my stuff on that!!!
the papers are a mixture of Maja design and Magnolia, the  beautiful flowers came from Sweet Lilac, the stamens are a mixture of Magnolia and other, the natural fibers are from hobby Craft,
The Noor musical note came from Icon,(wow are they good prices!!!!!!, no postage and quick), I must admit I trimmed it down a little as it was too big for the space I had,

The 30 numbers are a large sissix die I've had donkeys years and I cut them out and laid them onto a piece of vellum so the background colours still showed through,
The chipboard owl is by Tando Creative and i coloured it with copics,
The beautiful ribbon is from the ribbon girl,
The Happy Birthday chippie is by Scrap and craft which i painted with acrylics,

The Gift envelope!!

Kay wanted money for her Birthday so I made a gift envelope to put it in, I used some more of the gorgeous flowers and stamens and a leaf die from my stash, I cut the edge with my trimmer,

Exploding cake box

This was hard to take a picture of, the lid is on the back right and again I used some of the gorgeous ribbon from The Ribbon Girl, papers , flowers etc for the lid,
I left the top cake flowers flat for the lid to fit on, the flowers on the side of the cake are from TRG all listed below,

Closer view of all the top of the box,

The last one!!

I bought the bare MDF 30 and base from Anna Marie designs and painted, distressed, sanded and added a crackle effect on the pieces to start, when dry i added a little stenciling here and there to bring in the green colour,
The flowers are again from Sweet Lilac, the stamens Magnolia and other,
the chipboard  music notes are again by Tando Creative and I kept them to their original colour,
Again i used one of the owls and coloured it with my copics the adhered it with 3D glue,

kay loved it so that was good, lol

Ladies Day

Hi guys, back again with our Paper Take Weekly challenge which this time is
Anything Goes -optional home made flowers,
were being sponsored by the Lovely The Ribbon Girls, yeah thank you Mary and Andrea,

It was my Birthday last month and with some of my money I saw this dress form in a local shop and it just had to fall into my basket!!!!!
As you know i love to do something different for a change,
there are a few pictures, so grab a brew first lol,

It started out brown as it's made of paper mache, so i painted the whole thing with white gesso first,
the bodice had quite a wide bottom, lol so i was stuck to what would look right, so after much humming and haring I came up with this,

If you look closely you will see I started off with some tissue paper strips onto which I had stamped a script stamp, I tore the strips up the applied to the bodice using mod podge, this was to give her a bodice effect as the dress form has quite a good shape on her top half and so she needed her modesty!!!!  when this was dry I made the over bodice by using the wet paper technique to fold, mould and shape the paper to fit, before gluing I added a strip of lace on the top,
I will go back to the hat later,

Again using the same technique i then made an under the bust part of the dress/ costume by roughly following the design of the dress form and down to just past her waist,

The inner dress is made up using two different designer papers shaped and layered with a little tulle in between too, over this I shaped and made  soft pleat effects for the skirt to go over the top, I added the smaller lace before gluing to the dress form and the larger lace  after it was attached to the rest of the dress form,
To finish the dress off I used a few different flower dies from my stash, made them up using some maja design papers then applied them where i thought they looked right, the flourish is by Cheery Lynn,

To  finish off the top of the dress form which looked a little bare I made a hat out of the same papers, using some circle dies and a strip of paper, I sort of made it up as I went along!!!! but I like the finished look,
again I used some more of the hand made flowers and cut a little bit off another of the flourishes to tie it all in,

I finished off the base with a rub on, which says yesterday, today, tomorrow,
I really enjoyed doing this and would love to do more!!!!!
